Britishers imported their clothes to India and forced our people not to buy our own cotton dress. Same way Europeans were also forced

The rules they made related to clothing were many like ,one has to remove the turban which Indian were wearing as a mark of respect in the offices which was against the Indian custom.The European were subsequently forbidden from wearing Indian clothes in 1830 to maintain the cultural identity of the white master's.
