I resent paying for Tampons.

Manufacturing costs cannot begin to justify the price of one box. Feminine hygiene companies rake in at least an 85% profit per dollar. Whomever the sadistic individual was to decide cardboard to be a viable applicator was bordering on genius, because the price is doubled for women without a high pain threshold and who choose the costlier plastic version.

Companies are well aware that consumers have no choice but purchase this product. Women between the beginning of puberty and start of menopause are a locked in market.

God forbid you happen to run out in a public restroom, when there are no other women around to beg one from, and can't find four quarters in your purse for a single tampon from the vending machine.

These things are necessary, not optional, but wherever there is a lucrative market there will be individuals who cannot help but take advantage.
