Sur is swar or musical notes ,( SA re GA ma pa DHA ni SA) . Taal is tempo, bpm ( beats per minute) and beats is any pattern of swar playing in regular interval of time.

Sur is like the tone in your song. And taal is the beats going with your lyrics and tune. It's like a tempo playing on your keyboard besides when u play the notes.
