The solar system has two distinct divisions – the terrestrial planet and the Jovian planets.
The terrestrial planet is made up of different components where as the primary component for the Jovian planet is gas.
There lies an asteroid belt in between the last terrestrial planet i.e. Mars and the first Jovian planet i.e. Jupiter which separate the terrestrial planets from the Jovian.
