Step-by-step explanation:

Suppose the no. to be added = X

According to question :-

-7/8 +X = 4/9

X= 4/9 + ( -7/8)

X = 4/9 - 7/8 {Taking L. C. M. } = 72

X = 4×8 + (-7 × 9) / 72

X =32+ (-63) /72

X = 32-63/72

X = -31/72

So, -31/72 should be added to -7/8 to get 4/9..

That's my answer..
