What should be added to thrice the rational number -5/2 to get 2/7 ( step by step explanation, please ) .

let the unknown no be x..

one number= -5/2

equation formed is

x+x+x + -5/2=2/7

3x + -5/2= 2/7

3x = 2/7+5/2(transposing)

3x = 4/14+35/14

3x = 39/14

x = 39/14÷ 3/1 ( unit fraction)

x = 39/14 × 1/3

x = 13/14

so number is 13/14...
