2a+8b+10-(-3a+7b+16)
=2a+8b+10+3a-7b-16
=5a+1b-6 should be subtracted from 2a+8b+10 to get -3+7b+16

Answer:

since we will get quotient as -3+7b+16

therefore, r(x)= 0

Since, p(x)=g(x) * q(x) + r(x)

given:

    p(x)= 2a + 8b + 10

    q(x)= -3 + 7b + 16

     r(x) = 0

     g(x) = ?

therefore,

     g(x)= p(x) - r(x) / q(x)

           = 2a + 8b + 10 - 0 / -3 + 7b + 16

           = [2a + 8b + 10] / [-3 + 7b +16]

           = [2a + 8b + 10] / [ 7b + 13 ]

           = b - 3 + a

    therefore, b- 3 + a should be subtracted from 2a + 8b + 10 to get  -3 + 7b +16
