1. The full Moon day/night is a time when the Moon shines at its brightest glory; illuminating everything and driving away all darkness and negativity.

2. It is considered to be an auspicious day in Hinduism which has the ability to bring prosperity and the lives of people.

3. Poojas performed on Poornima days have the maximum positive effects on a person’s life. Fasting during the Poornima day/night has several purifying and cleansing effects on a person’s body and mind.

4. Many Gods were born on Poornima days, including Hanuman, Hayagriva, Kartik and Dattareya. These Jayanti festivals hold special importance and are celebrated in a grand manner by all Hindus.

5. Among important festivals which fall on Poornima; the most prominent is Holi which is the festival of colors and marks the arrival of the spring season.
