Answer:Looking back, being an only child & being given to unrelated ‘godparents' as it was known, proved traumatic & obviously I was bursting with questions that were rarely answered! I would see my father briefly once a year & the same with my mother (they were divorced) then I was sent to boarding school which added to my trauma & experienced for the first time, Class Distinction, which could be pretty cruel! At first I was called Guttersnipe, a perjurative name, yet when I went home for visits, I was called a Toffee Nose, due to my newly acquired posh accent! Try going through that when you are nine years old! Would I. Change it? I don' t think so. I had the experience of seeing right across the social spectrum, from extreme wealth to ordinary working class, which put Kevin good stead for the future ahead!
