they created the concept of the patit( the nation )and le cityon( the citizens)
they created a new french flag ,tri colored to replace the royal standards 
estate generals were elected and renamed national assembly 
new hymns were composed  and oaths were taken in the name of nation.
uniform system of weights and measures were introduced
regional dialects were discouraged and french became the common language as it was spoken and written in paris
centralized system of administration introduced 
internal tariff barriers were abolished
