What steps should be taken to improve production of food from animals sources in our country ?

in our country even though the no of domesticated animals are more as compared to other countries yet the production is comparitively very low.
things which might help are.
providing better care for animals which include
clean shelters, quantitatively and qualitatively measured fodder, vetrinary checkups, hygienic atmosphere both for the workers as well as the animals, better transport system.
these days gmo( genetically modified organisms are also being used in large no. for better and large scale production of animal products.
