Answer:

Explanation:

The Army of the Mughal Empire was the force by which the Mughal emperors established their empire in the 15th century and expanded it to its greatest extent at the beginning of the 18th century. Although its origins, like the Mughals themselves, were in the cavalry-based armies of central Asia, its essential form and structure was established by the empire's third emperor, Akbar.

The army had no regimental structure and the soldiers were not directly recruited by the emperor. Instead, individuals, such as nobles or local leaders, would recruit their own troops, referred to as a mansab, and contribute them to the army.

The steps were taken by Akbar:

  • The Mughal army during the time of Akbar was finely tuned and immaculately prepared. Akbar reigned as the commander in chief of the army himself and looked over the commands for the army. The army was divided into two parts, the foot cavalry, and the mounted soldiers.
  • The foot cavalry was directly under the crown whereas the mounted cavalry was appointed and maintained by the mansabdars. To ensure the efficiency of his mounted soldiers, Akbar made sure that there were enough horses.
  • For, many times the casualties of the mounted soldiers depended on the tunings of the horses. It was ordered that the mansabdars maintain twice the number of horses than soldiers.
  • The mounted cavalry was trained and hammered into archers or swordsmen. They acted as the tactical line of defense, strengthening the army's position on the battlefield.
