The strange experience was, he felt guilty of stealing his father’s money and becoming responsible for his death.  This had made his father to commit suicide.  Griffin was losing his personal life, social life and familial life for the sake of his experiments.

The portion which he had consumed brought all the guilt ridden thoughts to surface and created chaos in his mind.  This did not allow him to sleep.

There have been many examples evident whenever ambition turns into vaulting ambition, the result has been disastrous. Bhasmasur's over ambition turned into his own downfall when he took it otherwise. Griffin also failed to be an exception to it. The experiment was being carried out at the cost of his social, family and personal life. Even he became less reliable about stealing his father's money which later on caused him to commit suicide. This had created a kind of unease in Griffin's soul that did not leave him in his sleep. The confusion in his unconscious mind resulted in his experiencing his father at his funeral. He felt as if somebody were pulling him into the grave itself. It also affected his life. He became a kind of irritated person and could not develop intimacy with anybody. His wild idea of invisibility to conquer the world by creating a reign of terror led him to his tragic end.
