The theme revealed in the conflict scene of Odyssey is, ‘trickery is a valuable weapon in battle’. Trickery has been finely depicted in Odyssey. When the giant Cyclops asks Odysseus’s name, he cleverly tricks Cyclops by saying his name was Nohbdy, sounding like nobody.
So that when the other giants would ask Cyclops who attacked him, then Cyclops would say Nohbdy but others would understand as nobody had actually attacked him.
Odysseus tricks Cyclops once again by hiding in between the sheep. So, time and again, trickery became a valuable weapon in the battle for Odysseus.
