SI on ₹1000 in 4ys. = prt/100
. = 1000*4*4/100
. ₹160

therefore in both the cases sl are same

. Si in ₹400= ₹160
. or, prt/100= 160
or, 400*10*t/100= 160
or, 40t=160
Or, t= 160/40= 4 yrs

. therefore the required time= 4yrs
