All the household job on its own had to be done to Hana.
• Second, a messenger came and said to Sadao that he was called to the castle because the general was in pain again. Hana was paralysed with fright. She felt the servants must have complained and the messenger had come to arrest Sadao. The worries were unfounded because the old general suffered from an illness. Sadao had been treating him and the general was in pain and had sent for him.
• The general trusted Sadao, and he knew he would requires to be operated upon. That is why Sadao was not sent away with the troops. Sadao told the general about the American. The general replied that Sadao was indispensable and could not be arrested. The general then suggested a way out. Two of his private killers should he send to his house to secretly execute the American and take the body away.
