Mimosa Pudica (touch me not) leaves droop (bend) on touching within two seconds and this process is called Nastic movement. When touched, this sensitive leaves react to stimulus as there is a higher pressure at that point and the water in the vacuoles of the cells of the leaf lose water to the adjacent cell. All the water escapes the leaf which then become flaccid. This causes the leaf to close.
