I highly recommend an Internet compatible topology, with web browser function (Apple/Android Smartphone, tablet, Win/lin/Mac compatible) at the client for both students and teachers and web server function at the other end. The server needs to be behind firewalls and Denial of Service Attack blockade servers.

The application needs to allow every student to copy and paste each of the assignment’s questions verbatim as a separate question into Quora, and then copy and paste the responses into the student’s response to the instructor. This will maximize student productivity even while minimizing learning.
