Let me tell you a story.
Ashley gave birth to the 2 twin boys. John(her husband) and she decided to divorce right after that. John got one kid and Ashley got the other one. Ashley named him Christ. John named his son bob.
Ashley raised her kid with complete freedom, she never forced her boy to study hard, no restriction whatsoever. On the other hand.
John raised his boy with strick discipline. Limited play time, high grades kinda like an strict parent.
Christ often struggle with his grade and Ashely provide him with so much freedom that he become a spoilt one and sometimes he raise his voice towards Ashely.
Bob never dare to do anything like this even in his dream. He did what john tell him to do. His life was hard, he can't argue about anything. He must do what he told.

Christ went for some part time jobs, he never studied so he quit the school. Meanwhile bob was the topper in his class and got enrolled in the best University of his country.
Now they both turned 30 and got married.
Christ struggling in his life with financial problems, he about to get divorce from his wifey coz he can't provide a basic income. Ashley spoiled him so much that he now think himself like a king, he don't even think before he speak.
Meanwhile bob is successful in his life. He can afford annual vacations and other luxury stuff. He is mature and now thankful of john for rasing him into such a splendid man.

It wouldn't if world wars never happened. Even miners in Us worked for 12–15hours in mines to provide adequate ores for weapons. It basically acquired all the wealth of european nations.
The most developed countries become democracy when they become developed not when they was poor.
Therr are even latest one like Japan, Singapore, south korea, Iseral which were dictatorship, after they thought like they acquired the wealth, their literacy rate rose to high, they adapt democracy.
