2)Means of transportation

Manufacturing Industries are the site of production of goods in large quantity by converting raw material of ,ower value to finished goods of higher value.

Factors of location -

(1) Availability of Raw Material

• Raw Material must be available at cheap rate or nearby or else it would    require transportation.
• There must be suitabel conditions for production of raw material in that area.
• For example: Good quality cotton is produced in Maharashtra due to availability of black soil.

(2) Availability of transportation facility

• Good network of roadways, railways etc must be available.
• For transport of goods to their supply location
• For bringing raw material from the site of production.

(3) Avialability of Cheap Labour

• Cheap labour must be available to make more profit.

(4) Good climatic conditions

• There must be good climatic conditions for production of raw material in that area .

(5) Market nearby

• If there would be any market to sell nearby it would reduce transportation cost.
• Industries can make use of agglomeration economies.
