Ribosomes are used to describe as the nissl granules in a nerve cell. The  Nissl body is otherwise called Nissl material and  Nissl substance.


It is one of the largest granular body discovered in the neurons.


They are of the rough endoplasmic reticulum with the rosettes of extremely free ribosomes. It also includes the site of protein synthesis.
