The plasma membrane or cell membrane provide protection for cell. It also provided fix environment inside the cell. Hand that membrane has several different functions. One is to transport nutrients into the sale and also to transport toxic substance out of the cell.

Biological membrane have three primary functions.

1) They kept toxic substance out of the cell.

2) they contain receptors and channels that allowed specific molecules such as ions, nutrients ,vestige and metabolic product.

3)They seperate vital but incompatible metabolic process is conducted within organelles.
