Given:

M1 = 10 M

M2 = 2 M

M = 7 M

V = 2 L

To Find:

Volume of 10 M HCl solution.

Calculation:

- Let the volume of 10 M HCl be V1 and the volume of 2 M HCl be V2.

⇒ V1 + V2 = V

⇒ V1 + V2 = 2

⇒ V2 = (2 - V1)

- Using molarity equation, we get:

M1 V1 + M2 V2 = M V

⇒ 10 × V1 + 2 × (2 - V1) = 7 × 2

⇒ 10 × V1 + 4 - 2 × V1 = 14

⇒ 8 × V1 = 14 - 4

⇒ V1 = 10 / 8

V1 = 1.25 L

- Now, V2 = 2 - 1.25 = 0.75 L

- Hence, 1.25 L of 10 M HCl solution must be added to 0.75 l of 2 M HCl solution to get 2L of 7M HCL solution.
