Ashoka laid stress on high ideals of conduct in practical life to make life peaceful and virtuous . This was called his Dhamma .

  1. People should follow ahimsa
  2. people should live in peace
  3. people should show respect and tolerence to all religions
  4. children must obey their parents and show them respect
  5. the elders should treat the younger ones with sympathy and understanding.
