Komaram Bheem's clarion call was for the basic requirements of a human being, "Jal, Jameen and Jangal". He was a tribal leader and openly fought in a guerilla warfare for the rights of the Adivasis, or the original inhabitants, against the then oppressive Nizam of Hyderabad, Asaf Jahi, as the ruler wanted to displace the tribals.
Komaram Bheem's call implied that the tribals were dependant on the forest for their daily lives as much as they needed water and their land on which they had been living for generations. Therefore, they would not let go of these.
