Even though there was stiff breeze blowing across the river, George along with eight other men went to hire a boat for boating. They chose a fancy boat rather than a comfortable one. When they started the boat, it got unbalanced. At theend of number fives skull, there was a violent blow, which made George realise that he has moved from the place he was sitting at and he even noticed that another person was lying on his back with his legs in the air. Joskin who claimed to be experienced in boating before, was the only one rowing when they passed the Kew Bridge, as the boat had got unbalanced. George tried to help him, but instead dipped his oar into the water which got disappeared. Seeing all this, a dense crowd from the bridge were getting entertained.
