What was done by the British rulers to check the Witch Pratha

Explanation: https://brainly.in/question/12930226

The British rulers undertook many steps to check the Witch Pratha as mentioned in the Mandi report of 1868.

During the early years because of the lack of education and illiteracy people believed in witch craft and other superstition malpractices.

The British banned witch hunting in India in 1850`s. The most reliable evidence of the various steps taken by the British rulers is evident from the Mandi Report of 1888 which was considered as an umbrella project which showed several cases filed under it.

The documents relating to various witch hunting cases were put together in the report to give a glimpse of the effectiveness of the British Raj in the above matter. The report contained nearly 15 such cases which showed the efforts of the British rule  to civilize the people of India.

Hope this helps.
