1. The construction of underground railways was started, which enabled a large section of society to live outside central London.

2.  The expansion of suburbia as a part of the drive to decongest Landon directed the expansion of the town beyond the area where people could step to the job.  

3.  Large blocks of residences were built.

4. An architect and planner, Ebenezer Howard, designed a garden city for the workers, who could work and live properly.

5. The local authority built a million houses and inspired people to live in these houses.
