Ho Chi Minh Trail formed the backbone of the Vietnamese in their struggle for freeedom, unification and during US attack. It means an immense network of footpaths and roads used by the Vietnamese, to transport men and materials from North to South.

(iii) The trail was used by about 20,000 North Vietnamese troops who came to the south each month using this trail.
