Jerome was quite neurotic about his health. He had a persistent feeling that he was suffering from many diseases. First of all he concluded he was suffering from a liver disorder. One day Jerome went to the British Museum to read up the treatment for a slight hay fever. But as he began reading the book on symptoms, he felt he had all the symptoms of all the diseases he read about. He was convinced he was suffering from, typhoid fever, ague, cholera, housemaids knee, gout, zymosis, and scarlet fever. Thus panicked, he went to his medical man.

In the story ‘Packing’ by Jerome K Jerome, the character Jerome was doubtful about whether he had packed in his toothbrush within the bag or not.

He remembered this when he had already packed his bag for a second time.

He unpacked all the items by taking it all out and searched thoroughly for it when he finally found it in a boot which was also packed.
