When the poet was a child she had a $\underline{fear \ of \ separation}$from her mother as any other child usually had.

When the poet was driving to Cochin airport from her parents' house, her mother was also sitting beside her. At that time, the poet saw the condition of her mother who was looking like $\underline {late \ winter \ moon, \ weak, \ pale,}$$\underline {ashen \ face \ like \ of \ corpse}$.

The poet's mother was$\underline{inching \ close \ to \ death}$ and by noticing the same the childhood fear of the poet came back.
