1.The Revolt saw the end of the company rule and the administration of  India was passed onto the british crown.
2.The India office was created to handle the governance and the administration of the country.
3.The governor general was now called the viceroy and was responsible for the implementation of policies formulated by the India office.
4.Queen Victoria issued a proclamation outlining the principles of the administration.
5.Religious tolerance was promised and due attention was paid to the customs and traditions of India.
6.The rights of Indian rulers were recognised.
7.Military reorganisation was arranged to end the dominance of the Bengal army.
8.The ratio of British officers to Indian soldiers increased but the armoury remained in the hands of the English.

Result of revolt of 1857

1. The “British Parliament” passed another Act in 1858 and exchanged the forces of the “East India Company” to the “British Crown”.

2. Making the “British Queen” as their “Sovereign Paramount” the kings were allowed to pass their land to their own heirs or the adopted sons.  

3. The “Indian army” comprised of high population of European soldiers and less population of Indian soldiers.

4. The Muslims were treated gently and their land was returned to them.

5. The religious and social practices and customs of India was respected by the Britishers.  

6. Policies to ensure the protection of landlords and zamindars were framed and they were given full rights to use their own land.
