A Community Government is one in which different social groups are given the power to handle the affairs related to their communities. It is an elected body by the people who belong to one language, one culture or any common property like Dutch, German and French speaking, no matter where they live. The Community Government has the power regarding cultural, language and education related issues. These social groups are expected to work together for the benefit of the common masses without undermining any one community.
The Community Government works on the principal of power sharing. Power is divided among various social groups so that they have equal representation in governance. The citizens and leaders of Belgium respect the feelings and interests of different communities. The different social groups realized in order to maintain unity of the country.
