All of this was happening during the first world war. Initially everybody had been supporting this war. LAter on, pouverty and hunger struck Russia. The people became desperate and started to despise the war.

The anti germany sentiment was a different thing.

- Germany was the opposing power in the world was 1

- Germany and Russia had been fighting over a particular place ( I don't exactly remember the place). Both were say that this place had more German/Russian citizen.

- Alexamdra actually dominated over the Tsar during this period of time. While Tsar was busy with the war , Alexandra ruled over Russia. She was indeed a very bad ruler. With Rasputin by her side she become kind of a despotic ruler. She also had relations with German people (cousins)

So, the people basically hated Germany. So much that they even renamed St Petersburg.

Some of this is extra info that my teacher told me, but this is what this para basically means.

Bye !! Hope this helps
