the taj mahal is a  mausoleum on the southern bank of the river Yamuna in the city of Agra. It is mainly made of ivory white marble inlaid with semi-precious stones. It was built by the mughal ruler Shah Jahan in the year 1631 in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died in the same year. while giving birth to their 14th child, Gauhara Begum.
