The Answer is:

One morning, an elderly man was taking his routine stroll down the beach when he noticed a small child crouching by the ocean and picking stuff up out from sand and tossing it into the water.

The child was returning the starfish to the water after a wave had dragged it up onto the sand. The man learned that every change important, even if it initially seems inconsequential.

  • There was was a retired man who enjoyed writing by the ocean. He had a routine of visiting the beach every morning before going to work. He was strolling along the shore one morning after a major storm had passed when he realised that the wide beach was blanketed in starfish that reached as far the eye could see in either directions.
  • The elderly man noticed a tiny child approaching from behind. As the man approached, he noticed that the child was walking and halting occasionally, occasionally bending down to grab something and toss it into the water.
  • The father shouted, "Good morning!" as the child drew nearer. Please elaborate on what you are doing. The toddler paused, raised his head, and said, "Throwing starfish into the ocean."
  • The tide forced him up onto the beach, making it impossible for them to return to the ocean on their own, the teenager claimed.
  • They will expire unless I put them back into the ocean as the sun rises. The old guy said, "But there have to be thousands and thousands of starfish on the this shore."
  • The small child bent down, grabbed yet again another starfish, and threw it as far as he could into the ocean.
  • "It transformed for that one", he said as he turned around and grinned.
