\bf\underline{Poem - My \:Mother \:At \:Sixty \:Six }

\bf\underline{Poet - Kamala \:Das}

The poet, Kamala Das was going to Cochin airport from her parents home. While in her way, her mother was also sitting beside her in the car. Her mother was very frail, dull and pale. Her face looked like of a corpse. The poet compared her mother with the late winter moon who lost her charm and magnificence.

On the other hand, when poet looked outside the car, she found the scenery outside on sharp contrast to the scenery inside the car as there were merry trees looking like small children. Those trees reflected zeal, activity, joy and enthusiasm. By this, the mood of poet was also changed for sometime.
