Guru Angad Dev Ji was very much influenced by the Guru Nanak Dev Ji and by following his steps he spread the message of equality regardless of caste, religion, status, etc.
He and his wife named Mata Khivi taught their followers to help the needy one and for this, they established the free kitchens or community kitchens on the large scale where all the people who were helpless can have the food for free without telling their religion, caste, and status at the same place.
He and his wife personally came forward to serve as a help in the kitchen by cooking and serving.
