The economic crisis of 1923 is also called The Great Depression. It was caused due to the collapse of USA's stock market Street Wall Exchange which severely impacted the World Economy.

As to help the Weimar republic which was in it's infant stage through the harsh conditions of the Treaty of Versailes , USA provided the Weimar republic aid in form of loans. Germany had hust come up with the great inflation in it's currency 'Mark' which at a stage was  $1 = trillions of marks. But this stability was built on sand.

As the Street wall exchange collapsed, USA had to withdrawal all it's economic help and aids from the Weimar republic which made Germany to again suffer through a economic crises.

By seeking good chance, Hitler contested elections and won the elections and became the Chancellor of Germany and soon the president through unjust means  and used this crises as the one of the major arm against the democrats, catholic and socialists which supported Democratic government.
