The effect of kalinga war on Ashoka was that he ....stopped war....he changed his all principles...
like digvijaye to dhammavijaye....and he adopted Buddhism also....and never fought ny war with NY one in his whole lyf...and started helping others....he also send his son and daughter to Ceylon(sri Lanka) to preach....the principles of dhamma....

The kalinga war was the turning point in the life of the Ashoka . Thousand of soldiers of deid and many thousand were badly wounded .
Ashoka was heavily moved by the sight such distraction . After kalinga , he gave up all forms of voilance . He also give a his policy of" Digvijaya " and embraced the policy of ' Dharmavijaya '.
