Culturally and politically, a wealthy nobility was the predominant class in Europe. The most of the people in all these countries were belongs to the peasant class.

Through the years after 1815, the terror of oppression prompted much liberal-nationalists resistance. Secret organizations sprang up in various European nations to encourage revolutionaries for spreading their ideologies to protect against monarchical forms which had been instituted after the Vienna Congress.

Most of these revolutionists also viewed the conception of nation-states as a significant part of the struggle for democracy against the monarchy.

As conservative administrations attempted to solidify their power, humanism and patriotism came to be frequently correlated with the protest in many provinces of Europe such as movement in Poland, Hungary, Italy, Germany and Greece.
