Russia pulled out of the war in 1917 when October revolution, lead by lenin, saw his party the Bolsheviks, overthrow the Provisional government which took over Tasr Nicholas 2 who was forced to abdicate as a result of the February revolution.
These revolutions came from Nicholas' lack of care for the peasants and working man. The war caused famine throughout the country
