In March 1919, Justice Rowlatt passed the famous Rowlatt act, named after him. This act was popularly called the Black Act as it curtailed the freedom of Indian people.The clauses of the Act were :
i) To search without a warrant.
ii) To conduct trial without a jury.
iii) Imprisonment for an indefinite period of time.

the rowlatt act also known as black acts were launched on march1919. According to the Rowlatt Act an indian citizen could be arrested without a warrant by an english official. it provided an indian with No dalil, no appel,no vakil(lawyer)
