He felt that Indians believed in superstitious beliefs and saw womens as inferior, and not as advanced as the Europeans. So he felt that the British raj could  civilize the Indians to make them more superior as compared to their present state.he also Thought that all Asian societies were at a lower level of civilisation than Europe.
