The main aim of national assembly was to draft a constitution which would limit the powers of monarch.

1)rest all men and women were termed as passive citizens.

2)men above 25 years of age who paid wages equal to three days a labourer's wage were termed as actve citizens that is they were given the right to vote.

3)the powers were divided and assigned into three bodies-executive,legislative and judiciary.

4)the const. started with a declaration of rights of man and citizen.it was the duty of state to protect natural rights of all citizens.

5)the const. of 1791 rested the powers of making laws to national assembly which was indirectly elected.
