Answer:
Does a commission of about 30-40% or more goes to a doctor when we people purchase medicines as prescribed by a doctor?
If yes, then I suppose this is a very wrong practise!
It so happened that I got my nail removed 5 days ago in a government hospital and since then I am on antibiotics and pain killer.
Day 1- When I got my foot checked by a senior orthopedic surgeon in a govt hospital, he wrote some blood tests that I was supposed to go through(CBC/Hepatitis/ HIV/ blood group tests).
A X ray of my right foot which costed around Rs 365.
There was completely nothing wrong with those tests and it costed me Rs 861+ Rs 365. Nothing wrong here. These are written rates and no doubt with these prices.
Day 2- The day was Saturday. Having finally received my reports, I reported to doctor! He analysed my x Ray's and asked me that my nail would be removed off my right foot on Tuesday, 9 Am!
Here come the part that I doubt: After giving me the dates, I was prescribed some medicines. I visited 2 stores withing the government hospital , because medicines here are usually given at low rates. At both the stores I was asked to visit a pharmacist outside and purchase medicine.( Later my dad taught me something which I will share below).
