Answer:

Historians, Archaeologists and Epigraphists are seen to collect manuscripts.

A manuscript is a documented record of historical events, that was traditionally written by hand, but now-a-days, is type written.

This is because, manuscripts often bear witness to various historical dates, events, facts and evidences. They perform various tests on these manuscripts to find out the material, type of writing surface, instrument,  ink used to prepare these manuscripts. It also gives the historians and the archaeologists an idea of the historical era or the period of the rule of a particular dynasty or a kingdom of the kingdom.

Demerits:

1. It fades away over time.

2. It will be fragile and it will be big to carry around.

3. It consumes more time and cannot satisfy the increasing demand for books.

4. It is expensive and takes more labour to work on.

5. It is not clearly understandable by all as it is hand-written.
