The u.s. athletes tommie and Carlos protested by raising black gloved clinched fists with no shoes to show black poverty. They were punished by international Olympic association by taking their medal aback. Norman who protested by wearing a human right badge was not included in the Australian team. They all faced legal problems but their action succed ed in gaining international attention for civil rights movement and this proved to be a measure to curb or end the black poverty and discrimination in USA.
