Magma is the molten rock below the crust, in the mantle. Tremendous heat and pressure within the earth cause the hot magma to flow in convection currents. These currents cause the movement of the tectonic plates that make up the earth's crust.

The Earth has three layers namely:

1. Crust – Outer most layer

2. Mantle – Middle layer

3. Core – Inner most layer

Due to the heat of the core, conventional current is generated in the mantle. The current which is formed in the mantle slowly starts to invade the crust and moves around it. Due to this many natural disaster such as earthquake or volcanic eruption occurs and this may lead result in either destruction of crust or may leads to formation of new crust.
