the role of mnrega is significant in removing the poverty in the following ways :

a) under MNREGA 2005 all those in the rural areas are guaranteed 100 days of wage employment in a year

b) this scheme targets the poor women from poverty , scheduled tribes and scheduled classes

c) under this scheme , the gram panchayat after proper verification will register households and issue job cards

d) he job card is legal document that entitles a person to ask for a work under he act and get work within 15 days

e) if they fail to provide a work on demand then unemployment allowance would be payable

in this way the act provides a support and helps the poor people and plays a role in eradicating the poverty to some extent .
